In remote flash operating mode , high-speed synchronisation
HSS ( HSS or HSS) cannot be set via the slave flash unit.
High-speed synchronisation is automatically activated via the slave flash
unit when flashing for the duration of the shot concerned if a shutter time
less than the camera’s high-speed sync time is set on the cameral (see
camera operating instructions)!
Shorter shutter times than the flash sync time can only be set on the camera in
remote operation if the slave flash unit is not fitted to the camera and the
camera is set to the remote operating mode “WL” (wireless).
In the remote operating mode manual M, a partial light output can be set to
adjust the light output:
• Press the “Select” button repeatedly until P
and the manual partial light output are
displayed.
• Use the + and – buttons to make the requi-
red setting. Settings from P 1/1 (full light
output) to P 1/128) are possible.
The setting takes effect immediately.
After approx. 5 seconds the indicator stops
flashing and the setting is memorised automa-
tically. After a partial light output has been
set, EV starts flashing on the display showing
that a partial light output has been set.
By repeatedly pressing the “Select” button, the partial light output setting
can be called up and/or displayed. The partial light output selected can
be changed via the + and – buttons as required.

Setting the remote channel
To ensure that several remote systems used in the same room do not interfere
with one another, four independent remote channels (CH 1, 2, 3 or 4) are avai-
lable.
• In activated remote slave operating
mode, press the “Select” button repeated-
ly until CH (= remote channel) starts flas-
hing on the display.
• Use the + and – buttons to make the
required setting. You can choose between
channels 1, 2, 3 and 4.
The setting takes effect immediately.
After approx. 5 seconds the indicator stops flashing and the setting is memori-
sed automatically.
Controller and slave flash units belonging to the same remote system must all be
set to the same remote channel. The setting of the remote channel on the control-
ler (camera’s integrated flash unit) occurs automatically when data is transferred
if the slave flash unit is fitted to the camera and the camera’s shutter release is
actuated.
After remote slave operation has been activated, , the required remote ope-
rating mode, the reflector position and the remote channel (CH) are shown on
the display. If a manual partial light output has been set, EV flashes additionally.
No range indicator appears in remote slave operation!
The flash unit’s main reflector is automatically moved into the 24 mm position
in remote slave operating mode in order to illuminate as broad an area as pos-
sible. The position of the main reflector can be changed manually as required
(see 9.1).
